Steve McCullough joins the USI coaching staff in 2019 as a goalkeeper coach.
McCullough has been coaching youth soccer in Evansville for almost two decades. He was the Director of Coaching for a local youth club for five years, including the 2007 Indiana Youth Coach of the Year, and a pair of stints as goalkeeper coach at the University of Evansville (1996-97; 2000-05).
McCullough enjoyed an outstanding playing career. After starting as a freshman at the University of North Carolina Asheville, he transferred to Marquette University where he was three-time first-team All-Conference, two-time first-team All-Region, and two-time team Most Valuable Player. McCullough was a captain for two years including the nationally ranked 1994 team, and his 8,000 career minutes still rank in the top five in NCAA Division I history. He was drafted in the second round of the MISL draft by the Chicago Power.
A Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing from Marquette, McCullough has a United Soccer Coaches National Diploma, Goalkeeping 2 Diploma, Director of Coaching Diploma, and a USSF D License.
McCullough lives in Evansville with his wife Tamala. They have three children: Caden (a current member of the Screaming Eagles), Kennedy, and Jax.
