HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in baseball at Seymour High School (Seymour, Indiana) ... was a mainstay of his high school staff, pitching in 38 games over three varsity seasons, starting 34...worked nearly 200 innings, recording a 21 - 9 record  with 270 strikeouts (a 3.9 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio) and a 2.37 ERA.
