Andy Lasher has been brought onto the University of Southern Indiana Baseball coaching staff in preparations for the 2020 season. The Olney Central College ('11) and University of Evansville ('13) graduate joins the Screaming Eagles with over six years of coaching experience.
Lasher has spent the last year as an assistant with the Eastern Illinois University baseball program aiding in recruiting efforts, working daily with the Panthers' outfielders and all hitters, and overseeing academic progress of student-athletes.
After graduating from Evansville with a bachelor’s in business administration, the Newburgh, Indiana-native returned to Olney Central as the assistant coach for its baseball program between August 2013 and September 2018. With the Blue Knights, Lasher was in charge of creating strength and conditioning programs, setting up fundraising efforts, and directing recruiting, along with duties similar to his tenure at Eastern Illinois.
While working with the Blue Knights, Lasher was also named the head coach of the Dubois County Bombers, a collegiate summer club in the Ohio Valley League. Lasher amassed a 122-63 (.659) record, two Ohio Valley League titles and the 2018 Blue Grass World Series championship.
Lasher was a two-year starter in the outfield at Olney Central before transferring to Evansville for his junior and senior seasons. As a senior with the Aces, Lasher made 41 starts in 45 appearances, collected 20 RBI, six multi-hit performances and a .315 on-base percentage. Lasher is also listed third all-time at Olney Central in career walks (66) over two seasons.
