(January 5, 2010) The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team embarks on its first GLVC road trip of the season Thursday when it takes on Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri. The Screaming Eagles (13-2, 4-0 GLVC) are off to their best 15-game start since 2000-01, a year that saw them go 28-4 and qualify for the NCAA II Elite Eight.
A big reason for the Eagles' success has been the leadership of senior guard/forward #Abby Williams#, who scored a career-high 20 points in USI's 84-67 victory over Saint Joseph's Monday night. Williams, who is on a degree in kinesiology, is currently averaging 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Her hustle plays have been huge for the Eagles in 2009-10. Williams has taken countless charges and has brought a high level of energy to a team that has just two seniors.
Earlier this year, Williams sat down with former USI baseball player and sports information intern Royle Beach for a little Q&A. Below is what Williams revealed:

Williams: Abigail E. Williams
Beach: When were you born?
Williams: June 16, 1988
Beach: Where is your hometown?
Williams: St Joeseph, IL
Beach: Do you have any nicknames, and if so how did you get them?
Williams: Abbizi. My dad gave it to me on my 16th birthday
Beach: What is your biggest sports accomplishment?
Williams: Going to JUCO Nationals two consecutive years. Also receiving runner up at Juco Nationals.
Beach: What is your best childhood memory?
Williams: All my family gatherings
Beach: Describe yourself in three words.
Williams: Organized, energetic, and caring
Beach: How did you get started playing Basketball?
Williams: My parents signed me up for YMCA ball.
Beach: What do you like most about USI?
Williams: Teammates, the campus, and the community
Beach: What is the best thing about college life?
Williams: New experiences along with meeting new people
Beach: What are your plans after college?
Williams: Be involved with an intercollegiate team handling administration work, ticket sales, or coaching

Williams: My dad
Beach: What is the best/worst thing about being a college athlete?
Williams: Best: Traveling with the team. Worst: Time management. There is not much time to myself.
