EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer returns home for its non-conference finale on Sunday at 11 a.m., when the Screaming Eagles host Xavier University at Strassweg Field.
 
Sunday's game was moved to 11 a.m. from its original 1 p.m. start because of the forecast for extreme heat. Admission to Sunday's match and all USI Women's Soccer home matches is free thanks to ProRehab. Sunday is also Youth Soccer Day, with autographs after the match.

USI Women's Soccer (1-6-3) is set to play the first of back-to-back home matches following a four-game road stretch. The Screaming Eagles went 1-2-1 on the road swing. USI will also play at home next Sunday, September 27, to open Ohio Valley Conference play against the University of Tennessee at Martin. Overall, USI is 0-4-1 at home after playing five of its first six matches at Strassweg Field earlier this season.
 
USI also plays its second straight contest against a Big East Conference team on Sunday. The Screaming Eagles played at DePaul University in their last match on Thursday in Chicago, Illinois, to conclude the four-match road stretch.
 
In Thursday's match at DePaul, the Screaming Eagles tied the Blue Demons 1-1. Despite being outshot, USI struck first on a goal by freshman midfielder Shea Krakowksi, her first career goal, in the 51^st minute and held the 1-0 lead until the 89^th minute, when DePaul scored the equalizer. USI had a potential goal to make the score 2-0 in the 85^th minute, but VAR disallowed it.
 
Thursday's 1-1 draw at DePaul was USI's first result against a Big East Conference opponent. With the goal in the 51^st minute, Krakowski became the third freshman to score for USI this season.
 
Krakowski now leads the team with three points off a goal and an assist. Four Screaming Eagles have scored a goal this season. Senior forward Eva Boer, who has a team-high two assists after a helper on Thursday at DePaul, paces the squad with 19 shots. Freshman forward Liza Anderson leads the team with eight shots on goal, ranking third in the OVC. In goal, sophomore goalkeeper Merrick Schwalbach has a 1.40 GAA with 40 saves and three clean sheets, which is tied for second-most in the OVC.
 
Xavier (5-2-0) heads into Sunday's tilt on a three-match winning streak and amid a three-match road swing. The Musketeers are also playing their non-conference finale on Sunday. Xavier's two losses this season are against a pair of top-10 teams, Michigan State University (2-0) and Vanderbilt University (4-1).
 
Last time out, Xavier won 2-0 at Eastern Kentucky University on Thursday, scoring a goal in each half. The Musketeers launched 28 shots and 11 on goal, while holding the Colonels to only four shots and one on frame. Xavier also earned nine corner kicks.
 
Xavier's leading scorer is senior forward Peyton Kohls, with nine points from three goals and three assists. Freshman forward Frances Reuland is tied for second with eight points, coming on two goals and a team-best four assists. Kohls and Reuland each scored in Thursday's contest against Eastern Kentucky. Sophomore midfielder Brooklyn O'Brien has a team-high four goals. Between the posts, sophomore goalkeeper Sami Lipcon has played most of the minutes, posting a 0.90 GAA with 13 saves and two shutouts.
 
Sunday's match is the second all-time meeting between the two programs, as Xavier won the first meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio, 5-0, in 2018.
