EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Basketball junior guard Sophia Loden was named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District for NCAA Division I. Loden receives honors for the second year in a row.
 
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Award, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) as an undergraduate and graduate (if applicable). They must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution and completed at least one full academic year.
 
Loden, a computer information systems major, posted a strong 2025-26 campaign in her third season at USI. The guard started all 32 games for the Screaming Eagles, averaging 28.6 minutes per contest. Loden was third on the team in scoring at just under 10 points per game while pacing the Eagles with 6.9 rebounds per outing, which ranked among the top of the Ohio Valley Conference. Loden totaled 40 assists and 39 steals. From the floor, Loden shot over 38 percent on the season.
 
Throughout the 2025-26 season, Loden registered 19 games with 10 or more, including two outings with 20-plus points. Loden had a career-best 22 points in late November against Fisk University. On the glass, Loden also had eight games with 10 or more rebounds. The Mascoutah, Illinois, native posted seven double-doubles on the year, including four straight during the non-conference season and back-to-back during the OVC season.
 
Loden helped USI to a 21-11 overall record in 2025-26, which also featured a third consecutive WNIT appearance and a third straight season reaching at least the semifinal round of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship Tournament. USI also won 20-plus games for the third consecutive season.
