EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer sophomore midfielder Nolan Stevens received Ohio Valley Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday morning following his remarkable play last week.
Stevens earned his first career Player of the Week award after scoring three goals across matches against Eastern Illinois University and Western Illinois University last week, scoring the game-winning goal against WIU.
Stevens began the week by recording a brace in a loss to EIU, his first goals of the season, with both goals coming in the second half. He scored his first goal in the 50th minute from inside the penalty area. He found the back of the net again in the 72nd minute off a pair of assists.
Stevens followed up his two-goal performance with a game-winning goal in the Screaming Eagles' 3-1 road victory against the Leathernecks on Sunday. The victory was USI's first win of the season. As in Thursday's game, he scored in the second half, in the 54th minute.
USI will next travel to Houston Christian University on Thursday to continue its three-game road trip. Thursday's match will begin at 7:30 p.m.
