Screaming Eagles duel with Phoenix Monday night

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer continues its homestand Monday night when the Screaming Eagles battle the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay at 7 p.m.
?
Admission to Monday's home match and all 2025 USI Soccer regular-season home games is free courtesy of ProRehab. Monday's match can also be viewed with an ESPN+ subscription.
?
Monday's match will be the second in USI's five-game homestand, and the fifth matchup between USI (1-1-0) and Green Bay (0-2-0). The Phoenix won last year's matchup 3-2, scoring the go-ahead goal in the final five seconds of the game.
?
USI began the homestand Tuesday night by defeating Rose-Hulman 1-0. The Eagles' offense struggled in the first half, taking four shots but failing to score. The teams entered halftime tied at 0-0, mirroring the 2024 matchup.
?
The Eagles were able to break through with a game-winning 64th-minute goal from junior midfielder Pablo Juan. USI tallied 10 shots from nine different players, with two coming from freshman forward Edin Cvorovic.
?
The Eagles' defense suffocated the Fightin' Engineers, limiting them to five shots, two on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Jacob English tallied one save, moving his total to eight through two games.
?
Green Bay comes to USI after a 2-1 loss at Indiana University Thursday night. The Phoenix jumped out early to a 1-0 lead, scoring only 1:48 into the match. Indiana took some time getting into their offensive rhythm, scoring both of their goals in the second half.
?
Senior forward Chris Album has scored the only goal for Green Bay so far this season. The Phoenix opened the season with a 1-0 loss to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, August 25.
?
Green Bay is the first of back-to-back Horizon League Conference opponents for the Eagles. USI will host Indiana University Indianapolis on Saturday, September 6, at 1 p.m.
