EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer begins a two-match road swing on Thursday when the Screaming Eagles travel to Robert Morris University for a 3 p.m. CT contest.

Thursday's match will be available to watch with a subscription to ESPN+.

The two sides met for the first time last August at USI, battling to a 2-2 draw. In a competitive offensive match, USI led 2-0 at halftime before Robert Morris scored twice in the second half to draw even. The two sides combined for 34 shots and 15 shots on goal. The goal scorers for USI in last year's meeting were redshirt sophomore forward
Eva Boer, off a pair of assists in the seventh minute, and senior forward
Payton Seymour, off a pair of assists in the 44
th minute. Seymour led the Eagles with four shots in the contest, placing two on goal.

Southern Indiana (0-2-0) is coming off a 2-0 loss in its home opener against Cleveland State University this past Sunday. USI ran into some tough luck trying to find the back of the net despite outshooting the Vikings 21-7 overall and 9-3 in shots on goal. USI controlled the pace and possession but was unable to find a breakthrough. The Screaming Eagles had more than 10 of their shots either saved, blocked, or go off the woodwork. The 21 shot attempts matched last year's season high when USI generated 21 shots in the 2024 regular-season finale against Western Illinois University.

Graduate student
Maggie Duggan and senior forward
Emerson Grafton were two of the driving forces offensively for USI against Cleveland State. Duggan took five shots with two on frame. Grafton also had five shots with one on target. Overall, Grafton is just ahead of Duggan with a team-best six total shots through two matches. In the early going, both rank top 10 in the Ohio Valley Conference in shots taken.

Robert Morris dropped its only game played going into the second week of the season. The Colonials opened their season last Thursday with a 3-0 loss at home against Navy. All three of Navy's goals came in the first half. Navy had 11 shots with six on goal compared to Robert Morris' seven shots and three on target.

Last season, Robert Morris went 6-7-6 overall with a 4-3-3 record in Horizon League play and eventually fell in the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament.

The Colonials return their top scorer from 2024 with senior forward Paloma Swankler. Swankler led the team last season with 17 points off six goals and five assists. Robert Morris also returns its third-best scorer from last season with senior midfielder Taylor Day, who posted nine points on four goals and an assist.

Following Thursday's road tilt, the Screaming Eagles will head to the University of Akron for the backend of the road swing on Sunday for a Noon CT kickoff in USI's first meeting against the Zips.
