CRESTVIEW, Ky. - University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis (1-3) earned its first win of the season against Northern Kentucky University (0-3) on Saturday evening, 4-2. The victory marks the Screaming Eagles' first victory over the Norse since transitioning to Division I.

Doubles
The Eagles earned a pair of victories in doubles. Junior
Axel Sabourin and freshman
Jy Hibbert battled NKU's number-one duo and came out victorious 6-3. Junior
Mathys Bove and freshman
Adam Koon took down NKU's number-three double in a thrilling 7-6 victory.Â

Singles
USI excelled in singles winning three of the five finished matches. Sabourin earned an impressive victory (6-4, 6-3) in the number two singles match, while Hibbert dominated the number four singles match, coming out with a 6-1, 6-4 two-set victory. The second semester addition of Hibbert has given Eagles significant depth as the freshman earned his first singles and doubles victory as a Screaming Eagle today.Â

Senior
Quinten Gillespie fell behind early losing the first set 6-2 in the number five singles match. The senior refused to quit, turning it around and pulling out a 6-3 victory in set two, forcing a pivotal third set. Gillespie fell behind in the third set but caught fire saving six match points leading to a clutch 7-3 set three victory, helping the Eagles earn their first win of 2025.Â
