USI Women’s Basketball alum Eileen Weber named to Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame 2026 Induction Class

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Basketball alum Eileen Weber was named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame induction class of 2026.
 
Weber, who competed for the Screaming Eagles from 1994 to 1998, is part of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 24th women's induction class, which will be honored in ceremonies on April 25, 2026.
 
A forward from Washington, Indiana, and Washington Catholic High School, Weber came to USI under former head coach Chancellor Dugan and left a legacy among the best players to put on the Screaming Eagles uniform. In USI history, Weber is second in career scoring (1,847), second in career field goals (705), third in career rebounds (842), and tied for fourth in career steals (188).  She also had 186 career assists and shot for 53.7 percent overall, 36.3 percent from three-point range, and 73.4 percent at the free-throw line. For her career, Weber averaged 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Weber played in 115 games and made 106 starts, helping lead the Screaming Eagles to a 100-16 record in her four years. Weber was a member of four NCAA Division II national tournament teams, including a 1997 national runner-up finish.
 
Weber was a two-time Kodak/WBCA Division II All-American (1997 honorable mention, 1998 first team). Weber was also the 1998 Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year. Her other accolades included being named to the 1997 NCAA Division II Elite Eight All-Tournament Team and winning the 1995 GLVC Newcomer of the Year award. Weber was a four-time All-GLVC selection, earning second-team honors her first two seasons and first-team laurels in her final two seasons with the Screaming Eagles. A Presidential Scholarship recipient, Weber was a three-time GLVC all-academic honoree and won the 1997 GLVC Scharf Paragon Award for excellence in academics, athletics, character, and leadership.
 
Prior to USI, Weber set numerous school records at Washington Catholic High School. Weber set school records with 1,879 points, 858 rebounds, and 212 steals in 81 games over four seasons for teams that went 47-34 and won a 1991 sectional. As a senior, Weber was the state's leading scorer with a 31.7 average and added 14.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.8 steals while shooting .527 on field goals, .372 on 3-pointers, and .741 on free throws.
 
While at Washington Catholic, Weber was a 1994 Indiana All-Star and was selected 1994 ICGSA first-team All-State, 1994 AP second-team All-State, 1994 Southwestern Indiana co-Player of the Year, 1993 AP high honorable mention All-State, three-time all-Southwestern Indiana (1992 second team; 1993, 1994 first team) and three-time first-team all-Blue Chip Conference. She also played in the 1994 North/South Indiana All-Star Classic and the 1994 HBCA East/West All-Star Classic.
 
Weber graduated from USI in 1998 before earning a master's from the University of Evansville in 2008. Weber was inducted into the USI Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009, the GLVC Hall of Fame in 2012, and the Greater Evansville Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. The 1996-97 USI squad was inducted into the USI Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. Weber was named to the 2019 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary Team.
 
Since leaving USI in 1998, Weber worked for Red Spot Paint and Varnish in Evansville from 1998 to 2019. Since 2019, she has worked for Allnex USA in Alpharetta, Georgia, currently serving as Director of Research and Development for the Americas.
