Screaming Eagles host Kentucky State Saturday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Basketball is at Liberty Arena Saturday to finish Thanksgiving week by hosting Kentucky State University. Tipoff versus Kentucky State is set for 3 p.m.
 
All of the Eagles' action is being streamed on ESPN+ and aired live on ESPN 97.7FM and The Spin 95.7FM (Saturday only).
 
A special ticket package, Family Feast Four Pack, will be available to fans for the Kentucky State contest. The ticket package includes four game tickets, four sodas, and four popcorns for $40. Additional tickets are $10.
 
The USI-KSU showdown also is the final day of the "Stuff the Cruiser" initiative to collect non-perishable items for Archie's Food Closet. The Public Safety cruiser will be parked in front of Liberty Arena. Those wishing to donate can give items directly to the Public Safety employee or student worker stationed at the cruiser.
 
Donations can also be dropped off at the Public Safety Office, located on the first floor of the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center.
 
The Screaming Eagles (2-5) hope to stay on track after a thrilling 64-56 victory over Valparaiso University Wednesday on the road. The Eagles hit eight three-pointers in the explosive first half, then used their defense in the second half to clinch the victory.  
 
USI senior guard Ismail Habib led the Eagles with 25 points, including six three-pointers. He was followed by junior guard Kaden Brown, who had 15 points in the win.
 
For the season, Habib has been posting 19.3 points per game since the start of the year. Senior guard Trey Thomas follows with 11.8 points per contest, while senior guard Cardell Bailey and Brown finish out the double-digit scorers with 11.6 and 11.2 points per game, respectively.
 
Kentucky State is off to a 2-3 start to begin 2025-26. The Thorobreds defeated Fort Valley State University Tuesday night, 97-86, to begin this week and finish a 2-1 homestand.  
 
Following the home game with Kentucky State, USI will be on the road for the next two games. The Eagles are slated to go north to visit Western Michigan University December 3 for a 6 p.m. (CST) game in Kalamazoo, Michigan, before finishing the road swing at Indiana State University December 7 for a noon (CST) contest in Terre Haute, Indiana.
