Screaming Eagles come home Sunday, host Loras

"Stuff the Cruiser" Event scheduled prior to the game

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Basketball comes home to the friendly confines of the Liberty Arena Sunday to host Loras University at 3 p.m. The USI-Loras contest Sunday is being streamed on ESPN+ and aired live ESPN 97.7FM (http://listentotheref.com) and The Spin 95.7FM (https://957thespin.com).
 
The Screaming Eagles (0-3) look to earn their first win of the young 2025-26 season after falling on the road to the University of South Dakota, 89-74, Wednesday.
 
USI has the series lead against Loras, 2-0, with the last victory coming in the 2022-23 season. It defeated the DuHawks in 2021-22, 85-56, and in 2022-23, 87-55.
 
The Eagles have struggled offensively, shooting only 33.3 percent (96-201) and on the glass, being outrebounded (149-118) to begin the season. The bright spots for the Eagles are senior guard Ismail Habib and junior guard Kaden Brown.
 
Habib leads the USI Eagles with 18.3 points per game, while Brown follows with 15.0 points per outing.
 
Loras (1-1), who plays Blackburn College Friday before coming to USI, started the year with a loss to DePauw University, 77-74, and a win over Kalamazoo College, 105-52, at home.  
 
Following the home game Sunday, USI flies to Daytona Beach, Florida, to play in the Boardwalk Battle, a neutral-site tournament. The Eagles will take on the University of the Incarnate Word November 20 in the first round and are scheduled to play either the University of Illinois Chicago or High Point University November 22.
 
USI to host "Stuff the Cruiser" Promotion
USI Public Safety is hosting a Stuff the Cruiser initiative to collect non-perishable items for Archie's Food Closet. A Public Safety cruiser will be parked in front of Liberty Arena during all home USI Basketball games from Sunday, November 16, through Sunday, November 30. Those wishing to donate can give items directly to the Public Safety employee or student worker stationed at the cruiser. Donations can also be dropped off at the Public Safety Office, located on the first floor of the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center.
