Cvorovic named OVC Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Evansville, IN -- University of Southern Indiana freshman forward Edin Cvorovic was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday. This is the first weekly conference award won by men's soccer since the program returned to Division I.

Cvorovic earned his first career weekly honor after posting five points on a pair of goals and one assist in USI's win over Houston Christian University and tie with the University of the Incarnate Word. Cvorovic totaled his two goals on four shots, two on-goal, in 166 minutes.

Cvorovic started the week by scoring USI's first goal and assisting on the Screaming Eagles' fourth goal in the 4-1 victory over Houston Christian last Thursday. He finished the week by getting the equalizer in the 2-2 tie with UIW Sunday.

On the season, Cvorovic is second on the team with six points on two goals and two assists in 10 games and seven starts.

Cvorovic and the Eagles (2-7-1, 1-1-1 OVC) return to action Thursday when USI starts the second half of a four-match homestand at Strassweg Field by hosting Liberty University for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The kickoff was switched from noon to 1 p.m. due to airline scheduling for Liberty.

USI's four-game homestand comes to an end Sunday when it hosts Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for a 5 p.m. OVC contest.
