EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer finishes its road trip in Charleston, Illinois, with a matchup against Eastern Illinois University Sunday afternoon.

The Screaming Eagles (2-7-4, 1-1-4 OVC) are on a five-game unbeaten streak, the longest the team has had since the fall of 2019. The streak currently has USI fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference with seven points, one behind Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in fourth and one ahead of Western Illinois in sixth.
Sophomore
David Davila was named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday following his outstanding performance. Davila scored both of the team's goals in the come-from-behind draw against Liberty on October 9 and scored the equalizing goal in the team's draw against SIUE.
Last time out, USI once again came from behind, earning a 1-1 draw against Western Illinois. The Leathernecks found the net early, scoring just two minutes into the match. The Eagles' offense struggled in the first half, tallying three shots on goal.
In the second half, USI fought back. Scoring in the 58th minute as freshman
Edin Cvorovic found Davila in the box for his team leading sixth goal of the season. The Eagles' defense stifled the Leathernecks for the entire second half, limiting them to five shots with three on goal.
Eastern Illinois is coming off a 2-2 tie with Liberty on Thursday. The Panthers jumped out to an early lead, scoring at 18:15. Before Liberty rallied for two goals in seven minutes of game time. Eastern tied the game in the 53rd minute with a goal from senior Casey Welage.
Welage leads the Panthers with seven points on three goals and an assist. The senior has taken a team-high 27 shots, 13 coming on goal. Junior Shion Hayashi has also recorded two goals over his 700 minutes of action.
Between the posts, sophomore Lucas Ortiz has taken over the duty in the last four matches. Allowing six goals while recording 14 saves. On the season, the Panthers have allowed 21 goals and tallied 63 saves.
Following Sunday's match, the Eagles return to Strassweg Field for a battle with OVC-leading Lindenwood University on October 25th. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., and the team will be celebrating Senior Day at the match.
