EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer finishes its four-game homestand against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Saturday at 5 p.m. from Strassweg Field.
The Screaming Eagles (2-7-2, 1-1-2 OVC) have recorded three consecutive results for the first time since transitioning to NCAA Division I. The streak began on October 2 with a 4-1 victory over Houston Christian University, the three-goal differential being the largest in a victory since 2019.
The last two matches ended in 2-2 draws with the University of the Incarnate Word (October 5) and Liberty University (October 9). Over the three-game stretch, the offense has exploded, scoring eight goals, with two each from sophomore forward
David Davila and freshman forward
Edin Cvorovic.
Last time out, USI went down two in the second half and battled back with two late goals from Davila, forcing the draw against Liberty. The two teams met earlier this season in Lynchburg, Virginia, where Liberty came out on top 6-1.
On Monday, Cvorovic was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week following his two-goal week, including the equalizer against Incarnate Word. The freshman recorded a goal and an assist in the team's victory over Houston Christian.

Jacob English was an honorable mention for the OVC Goalkeeper of the Week this past week. The freshman recorded 11 saves in the team's two games, while allowing only three goals.
SIUE (2-8-1, 1-2-1 OVC) is coming off a 0-0 draw against OVC-leading Lindenwood University on Thursday in St. Charles, Missouri. The Cougars' offense applied pressure throughout the game, recording 19 shots with eight of those on goal, while freshman goalkeeper Noah Scheidweiler made four saves.
The Cougars are led by senior forward Evan Howard, who has netted six of the team's eight goals this season, including goals in both of the team's wins against Eastern Illinois University and the Air Force Academy.
Following Sunday's match, the Eagles hit the road for matches against Western Illinois University (October 16) and Eastern Illinois (October 19) before returning to Strassweg Field for senior day on October 25 against Lindenwood.
