LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – University of Southern Indiana Baseball lost the series finale the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 5-4, in 11 innings Sunday afternoon in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Screaming Eagles are 22-30 overall and 11-13 OVC, while Trojans go to 29-21, 16-8 OVC.
 
With the loss, USI drops to seventh in the OVC standings. The Eagles also remain a game out of fifth and two games out of fourth.
 
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Little Rock took a 1-0 lead on a home run. USI junior catcher 
Logan Mock (Livermore, California) erased the 1-0 deficit with a two-run to double to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth.
 
USI senior first baseman 
Tucker Ebest (Austin, Texas) increased the lead to 3-1 with a home run in the top of the eighth. The home run was Ebest's team-best ninth of the season.
 
The Trojans bounced back to tie the game with a run in the bottom of the eighth and the ninth to tie the score, 3-3, and force an extra frame.
 
Mock would strike again in the 10
th to put the Eagles back in front, 4-3, when he walked with the bases loaded. Little Rock, however, would respond quickly with a pair of runs to post a second-straight walk off win, 5-4.
 
USI junior lefthander 
Will Kiesel (Wadesville, Indiana) took the loss in relief for the Eagles. Kiesel (0-3) allowed two runs, one earned, on one hit and a walk, while striking out two in 1.1 innings of work.
 
USI junior right-hander 
Tyler Hutson (Villa Hills, Kentucky) started and got a no-decision. Hutson allowed one run on four hits in third start of the year, while striking out seven in seven innings.
 
Up Next for the Eagles:
USI will finish the 2024 regular season with a four-game homestand next week. The homestand starts Tuesday when USI hosts Middle Tennessee State University for a 6 p.m. contest before finishing the regular season with Alumni Weekend by hosting Western Illinois University for three-game series May 16-18.
 
During Alumni Weekend, the Eagles will have Senior Day and will honor the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship team prior to the 1 p.m. game May 18.
 
MTSU is 19-32 this spring after taking two of three from Jacksonville State University. The Blue Raiders are 5-5 in their last 10 games.
 
USI won the first ever meeting with MTSU in March, 12-9, in Murfreesboro, Kentucky. Eagles' junior catcher 
Logan Mock led the way in the victory, going four-for-four with three RBIs.
