TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Track & Field recorded 51 points to nab a second-place team finish at the ISU Open Saturday afternoon with the help of sophomore
Audrey Comastri (Indianapolis, Indiana) who won the 400 meters with a personal best time of one minute, 00.01 seconds. The Screaming Eagles found success in all categories, securing 15 top-ten finishes with 11 being in the top five.
Earning second and third-place marks in the 800 meters were freshman
Emily Rempe (Owensboro, Kentucky) and junior
Emma Brown (Evansville, Indiana). Rempe crossed the line with a personal best time of 2:24.47 while Brown finished close behind with a 2:26.89 mark.
Sophomore
Olivia Clark (Newburgh, Indiana) tallied a pair of top-five performances in the 60 and 200-meter dashes. Clark finished the 200 meters in 28.09 to claim fourth while grabbing fifth in the 60 meters with a time of 8.29. Junior
Aubrey Swart (Noblesville, Indiana) also was able to earn some points for the Eagles by finishing the mile in 5:14.06 to secure fifth place.
In the 3,000 meters, freshman
Emily Armstrong (Corydon, Indiana), freshman
Parker Provost (Westfield, Indiana), and sophomore
Carmen Rodriguez (Olney, Illinois) went third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Armstrong finished in 11:39.86 with Provost crossing the line in 11:49.36, beating out Rodriguez who had a 12:07.18 mark.
USI had a pair of top-five marks in the field with sophomore
Gabrielle McGregor (Louisville, Kentucky) nabbing fourth in the shot put with a throw of 36 feet, 9.75 inches. Junior
Emily Papandria (Indianapolis, Indiana) recorded a toss of 36' 11" in the weight throw to earn fifth.
