DiTusa, Etienne and Lippert named CSC Academic All-District

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer senior midfielder Jill DiTusa (St. Charles, Illinois), senior goalkeeper Maya Etienne (Midland, Michigan), and graduate defender Elizabeth Lippert (Lexington, Kentucky) were named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District for NCAA Division I. Etienne earns her second Academic All-District Award, and DiTusa and Lippert earn their first Academic All-District Awards.
 
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Award, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale). They must have reached a sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at the institution.
 
DiTusa, a health services major, led USI Women's Soccer with three assists and scored two goals in the 2022 season. She scored the game-winner against Chicago State University and scored her other goal in the regular season finale against Eastern Illinois University. DiTusa tallied seven points on the season. The senior midfielder moved inside USI's top-15 all-time with 37 career points and 16 career goals.
 
Etienne was named All-Ohio Valley Conference Second Team following another strong season in goal for the Screaming Eagles. Starting all 17 matches, Etienne was second in the OVC with a 0.77 goals against average and fourth with 73 saves. With seven shutouts in 2022, Etienne extended her USI all-time record to 36 shutouts. She also moved to second all-time in USI history with a 0.76 goals against average and jumped to third all-time in the USI record books with 308 career saves. The computer information systems major was named OVC Goalkeeper of the Week twice in 2022.
 
Lippert was an All-OVC Second Team selection in 2022 after leading the USI defense to seven shutouts and a 0.82 team goals against average. Lippert started all 17 matches in 2022, playing 1,432 minutes. She recorded one assist on the season as well. Lippert received her undergraduate degree in 2022, majoring in exercise science with USI magna cum laude honors. The defender is pursuing a graduate degree in occupational therapy.
 
All three Screaming Eagles were awarded Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference accolades the last three seasons.
 
As a team, USI concluded the 2022 season having made history on multiple fronts. USI Women's Soccer competed in their first season as an NCAA Division I program, accumulating five wins and four draws, including their first results as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference. While many firsts were achieved, the 2022 season ended with the Screaming Eagles' first berth in the OVC Championship Tournament.
