EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Baseball came up short against the University of Indianapolis, 7-5, on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at the USI Baseball Field. The Screaming Eagles go to 22-18 overall and 18-14 GLVC, while the Greyhounds end the contest 19-17, 17-11 GLVC.
USI spotted UIndy a 4-0 advantage and had to try and play catch-up the entire game. The Eagles got one run back in the first before the Greyhounds upped the lead to 6-1 after four innings.
USI rallied with a single run in the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight to cut the deficit to 6-5. The Greyhounds added a tally in the ninth to seal the Eagles' fate, 7-5.
Senior centerfielder
Bryce Krizan and freshman first baseman
Adam Wildeman led the Eagles at the plate with two hits each. Krizan, Wildeman, freshman third baseman

Manny Lopez had one RBI each in the loss.
On the mound, senior right-hander
Paul Perez took the loss in his first start of the season. Perez (0-1) allowed four runs, one earned in the opening frame.
Junior right-hander
Brady Bowling finished the first inning and continued on to throw two scoreless innings. Freshman right-hander
Carter Stamm followed for 5.1 innings, permitting three runs, two earned on four hits.
The Eagles finished with senior right-hander
Tyler Hagedorn on the bump for a scoreless ninth. The appearance was Hagedorn's school-record 91st of his career for the Eagles.

The Eagles have secured a berth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament that is scheduled for May 13-16 at Lindenwood University's Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Missouri. Pairings for the GLVC Tournament will be announced May 9.
