ST. CHARLES, Mo. – University of Southern Indiana Baseball was eliminated on day three of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Tournament by #5 (NCBWA)/#8 (ABCA) University of Illinois Springfield, 7-1, Saturday at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Missouri. The Screaming Eagles, the third seed from the GLVC Blue Division, conclude the 2021 season 24-20 overall, while the Prairie Stars, the top seed from the Green Division, end the contest 37-5.
Illinois Springfield crossed the plate first with a run in the second before USI could get onto the scoreboard the third. The Eagles tied the game, 1-1, on a two-out single by senior second baseman

Stephens and Daly led the Eagles at the plate in the loss with pair of hits each.
The Stars, however, would respond to the Eagles run in the third with two in the fourth to regain the lead, 3-1. They would hold the two-run advantage until the eighth when Illinois Springfield plated four runs to take a commanding 7-1 lead.

Carter Stamm took the loss for the Eagles. Stamm (3-2), who was making his first start of the season, allowed two runs on four hits in three innings of work.
