EVANSVILLE, Ind.--- University of Southern Indiana Women's Tennis (3-6) fell to Lindenwood University (5-2), 6-1 in their Great Lakes Valley Conference opener Friday afternoon at USI Tennis Courts.
DOUBLES: The Screaming Eagles got a doubles victory in the No. 1 match from the freshman pairing of Lauren Rowe and Rachel McCorkle as they topped their opponents, 6-3 upping their doubles record to 5-3 on the season.
Eagles would go on to drop the next doubles matches, surrendering the doubles point to the Lions.
SINGLES: Four of the singles matches went in straight-sets in favor of Lindenwood.
Rowe battled in the No. 2 singles to force a third set but eventually fell in 7-6, 1-6, 6-1 fashion.
Rachel McCorkle gained the single point for the Eagles with her dominant No. 1 singles straight-sets victory moving her over .500 (5-4) in singles play for the season.
