EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer comes back to Strassweg Field for the final homestand of the spring when it hosts Lindenwood University Friday and the University of Missouri-St. Louis Sunday. Kickoff Friday is set for 5 p.m., while the start time Sunday is noon.
The Screaming Eagles are 5-5-1 overall this spring, eighth in the GLVC standings, after posting a win at Missouri University of Science & Technology and a loss at Maryville University. USI is led by sophomore forward
Zach Barton with 14 points on seven goals.
Lindenwood enters this week's action tied for 12th in the GLVC with a 3-8-0 overall record. The Lions have lost five of their last six matches after being falling last week at home to the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 1-0.
The Eagles leads the all-time series with Lindenwood, 2-0-0, after winning the first meeting in GLVC action, 2-0, at Strassweg Field in 2019.
UMSL, which plays at McKendree University Friday before coming to USI, has a 7-2-2 overall mark this spring and is third in the GLVC. The Tritons won six of their last seven matches after posting the win over Lindenwood.
UMSL holds a 22-8-2 lead with USI in the all-time series, but the Eagles have won three of the last five match-ups, including a 2-0 win in 2019 at home.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions on match attendance, visiting team spectators are not allowed at Strassweg Field. USI fans are permitted under the following policy:
- pre-approved guests per USI student-athlete.
- USI student attendance will be allowed and limited to the first 60.
- Masks/face coverings for entry into the facility and must be worn at all times.
- Social distancing must be observed at all times.
