SPRINGFIELD, Ill.--- University of Southern Indiana Women's Tennis (3-10, 0-4 GLVC) fell 5-2 in their Great Lakes Valley Conference match this morning by University of Illinois Springfield (9-2, 3-1 GLVC), 5-2 at Chatham Glenwood High School.
DOUBLES: The Screaming Eagles were awarded the No. 3 doubles as the junior duo of Lindsey McCord and Kylie Skepnek won by default over their opponents. The pairing picks up their second doubles victory of the season.
Illinois Springfield swept the No. 1 and No. 2 matches grabbing the doubles point.
SINGLES: The Prairie Stars won the No. 1, 3, 4 singles in straight-sets.
McCord picked up another default victory in this time in the No. 4 match. McCord got her first win of the year in singles play.
Sophomore Jasmine Shireman also grabbed a win by default in the No. 5 singles. Shireman collected her third singles win on the year.
Freshman Rachel McCorkle battled in the No. 2 singles, but eventually fell in the last 6-4 in the third set.
Up Next: The Eagles will host University of Indianapolis on April 23 in Evansville, Indiana for another GLVC showdown.
