USI travels to S&T, Maryville this weekend

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer travels to Missouri this weekend, making visits to Missouri University of Science & Technology Thursday and Maryville University Saturday. Match time is 5 p.m. Thursday at Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri, and noon Saturday at Maryville in St. Louis, Missouri.
 
The Screaming Eagles are 7-2-0 overall this spring after sweeping both GLVC games at home last weekend. USI was led in both victories by sophomore forward Morgan Beyer, who was named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week after posting three goals and one assist in the two matches.  
 
Missouri S&T enters Thursday's match 12th in the GLVC with a 2-6-1 overall mark. The Miners split their matches on the road last weekend, defeating the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 2-1, and falling at McKendree University, 2-1.   
 
The Eagles have the advantage in the all-time series with Missouri S&T, 10-6-1, but are 2-2-1 in the last five with the Miners after a 2-1 loss in 2019 at Strassweg Field.

Maryville, which hosts McKendree University Thursday before welcoming USI to St. Louis Saturday, is fifth in the GLVC this spring with a 4-2-3 record. The Saints was winless last weekend, losing to Lindenwood, 1-0, and tying UMSL, 1-1, in double overtime.
 
USI also lead the all-time series with Maryville, 6-5-0, and in the last five, 3-2-0, after the 2-1 loss at home in last meeting.
 
Due to COVID-19 restrictions on match attendance, visiting spectators are not allowed at Missouri S&T or Maryville.
