INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - University of Southern Indiana men's tennis closed out its first tournament of the fall on Monday.
USI had one victor in the first round of the singles main draw bracket.
Parker Collignon defeated Austin Arfaras (Walsh) 6-0,6-0 to move onto the second round. Collignon matched up with Renato Lima (Indy) and put up tough sets before falling 4-6, 5-7.
In the single-round consolation bracket, USI collected a number of wins:
Spencer Blanford def. Alfredo Berlanga (Findlay) | 6-3, 6-3
Lucas Sakamaki def. Dawson Brummond (Walsh) | 6-3, 6-3
Preston Cameron def. Austin Arfaras (Findlay) | 6-2, 6-0
Dylan Brown def. Mark Ivanov (Findlay) | 6-2, 4-6, 9-7
Yahor Bahdanovich def. Andrew Codita (Findlay) | 6-3, 4-6, 10-8
The Screaming Eagles grabbed one win in the doubles main draw bracket with
Yahor Bahdanovich and
Marvin Kromer. Bahdanovich/Kromer beat the Findlay duo of Octavio Carrasco/Soh Kuyama 8-4. The USI duo then dropped their third round match to the Illinois-Springfield doubles team of Martinez/Servaes, 4-8.
Southern Indiana grabbed a set of wins in the single-round doubles consolation bracket:
