EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team had nine second half chances, but could not find the back of the goal in a  2-1 loss to the University of Indianapolis Friday evening at Strassweg Field. The Screaming Eagles see their record go to 0-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the GLVC, while UIndy goes to 3-0-1, 1-0-1 GLVC.  
 
The Greyhounds were the first to post a tally on the scoreboard when they took the early 1-0 lead at 32:28. USI bounced back before halftime when senior defender Drew Albert (Eureka, Missouri) blasted in the rebounding shot of sophomore defender Colten Walsh (St. Louis, Missouri) at 41:15 for his first goal of the season. Albert's goal sent the teams into the intermission tied, 1-1.  
 
In the second half, UIndy got the eventual game-winner with 29:14 to play and would hold off a USI offensive attack through the final minutes to preserve its victory. Both team had 14 shots each, while UIndy had a slim advantage in shots on goal, 5-4.
 
USI dominated the time of possession, 56-44 percent, and had the upper hand in corner kicks, 6-2.
 
The Eagles hit the road Sunday for a quick road trip to Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, for a 1:30 p.m. (CDT) showdown. The Knights saw their record go to 3-0-2 overall and 0-0-2 GLVC after tying McKendree University, 1-1, in double overtime at home this evening.
 
USI leads the all-time series with Bellarmine, 25-14-2, after posting a 3-2 road win in 2018. The Eagles also have the advantage in the last five meetings, posting 3-1-1 mark versus the Knights.
