EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team hopes to end its first homestand of the year on a winning note when it hosts the University of Indianapolis Friday for a 7:30 p.m. GLVC contest. Eagles begin conference play with a 2OT tie: The Eagles started 2019 GLVC play and the home schedule with a 1-1 double-overtime tie with McKendree University Sunday. USI senior forward

Eric Ramirez is eighth all-time with 25 career goals, three short of moving into a tie for sixth all-time with Matt Settles (2000-03) and Jeffrey McClure (2009-12). USI senior
Sean Rickey is three goals behind Ramirez (22) in ninth all-time.
USI versus UIndy: USI leads the all-time series with UIndy, 22-13-0, despite falling to the Greyhounds in 2018, 1-0. The loss was the only conference defeat last year for the Eagles. The Greyhounds have had the upper hand on the Eagles since 2016, winning four of the last five.
The Greyhounds in 2019: The Greyhounds, who are 2-0-1 overall and 0-0-1 GLVC, opened the 2019 conference slate with a 1-1 double-overtime tie versus Bellarmine. UIndy was picked third in the GLVC preseason poll.
USI versus Bellarmine: USI leads the all-time series with Bellarmine, 25-14-2, after posting a 3-2 road win in 2018. The Eagles also have the advantage in the last five meetings, posting 3-1-1 mark versus the Knights.
The Knights in 2019: Bellarmine, 3-0-1 overall and 0-0-1 GLVC, started the conference campaign with a 1-1 double-overtime tie with UIndy. Bellarmine is forecast to win the GLVC in 2019 after placing second during the regular season and losing the GLVC Tournament championship match on penalty kicks in 2018.
Santoro begins his 11th year: USI Head Coach
Mat Santoro has an 88-75-20 overall record at the helm. Santoro has guided the Eagles to a pair of NCAA II Tournament appearances; the 2018 GLVC regular season crown, and five GLVC Tournament appearances during his tenure.
Return to the GLVC Tournament: USI is looking for its fifth-straight trip to the GLVC Tournament for the first time since 1979-84 seasons.
GLVC leader in championships: USI has 11 GLVC men's soccer titles since the conference was created in 1979, the most by any program in the league. The Eagles won the conference tournament championships in 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1991; and the regular season title in 2018.
