EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team snapped a five game losing streak in its 7-0 win over Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Ballarmine on Friday.
DOUBLES
Freshman
Marvin Kromer (Dogern, Germany) and senior
Ilia Karelin (Ekaterinburg, Russia) got things started at number two doubles, kicking off a 6-1 victory for the day.
The duo of sophomore
Spencer Blandford (Louisville, Kentucky) and sophomore
Kooper Falkenstein (Jeffersonville, Indiana) wrapped up the doubles point for the Eagles after a 6-4 win over their opponent as well.
SINGLES
Freshman
Martin Linares (Buenos Aires, Argentina) fought to a 6-2, 6-1 win at number four singles while Blandford followed suit with a 6-4, 7-5 win at the number three spot as well. Karelin locked down number one singles in 6-2, 6-2 and Linares toppled his opponent at the number three slot 6-1, 6-0.
Freshman
Parker Collignon (Owensboro, Kentucky) and Falkenstein finished the sweep at number two and six singles in 6-7, 6-2, 10-6 and 5-7, 6-4, 10-7, respectively.
