WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The 18
th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team had a rough first half and fell to 23
rd-ranked Purdue University, 88-59 Friday evening in West Lafayette, Indiana. USI finishes the exhibition season 0-2.
The first five minutes of the game belonged to the Boilermakers as they quickly raced by the Eagles with a 22-4 run by time the teams reached 14:23 mark. Purdue methodically continued build the lead and extended the margin to 33 points, 54-21, by the intermission.
In the second half, USI played much better offensively, outscoring the Boilermakers, 38-34. The Eagles also shot better in the second half, hitting 40 percent (12-30) from the field, compared to 28 percent in the opening 20 minutes (7-25).

Emmanuel Little led the Eagles for the second-straight exhibition game, posting 13 points.
The Eagles open the regular season November 8 when they visit Hillsdale College on day one of the G-MAC/GLVC Crossover Classic in Hillsdale, Michigan. USI finishes the first weekend of action November 9 when it plays Malone University at Hillsdale.
