EVANSVILLE, Ind. - University of Southern Indiana Volleyball (7-7, 1-5 GLVC) dropped its first Great Lakes Valley Conference home-opener since 2006 Friday night against Truman State University (10-3, 3-2 GLVC).
Sophomore
Casey Cepicky (St. Louis, Missouri) posted her fourth double-double this season, while junior
Elexis Coleman (Joliet, Illinois) led the Screaming Eagles with nine kills.

- The closest set of the evening featured 11 tied scores and four lead changes, the last of which coming at 17-17
- Coleman exploded out of the gate with six kills in the frame...no other Eagle had more than one
- Cepicky tallied five assists, all on Coleman kills, and led USI with seven digs in the first
- Junior Shawntel James (Elkhart, Indiana) posted two blocks in the frame
- Three Eagles picked up a service ace: James, senior Haley Limper (Springfield, Illinois) and junior Lizzy Gardner (Lafayette, Indiana)

- The Bulldogs took the final lead at 11-10 and rattled off six straight points to take control
- Junior Amanda Jung (Belleville, Illinois) led USI with three kills and a hitting percentage of .500...Coleman and Cepicky added two kills each
- Senior Erika Peoples (Bloomington, Illinois) won a tight race for assists among Eagles 5-4 over Cepicky
- James cleanly received the most attacks for USI with three...Five other Eagles posted two digs each

- Truman accumulated nine straight points to open the final set, then rode the momentum to seal the match
- Cepicky picked up four assists and four digs to lead USI in both categories and sure up her fourth double-double in 2018
- Junior Lindsey Stose (Elkhart, Indiana) tallied all three of her kills in the final frame, with a .333 hitting percentage...James added two kills while three more each added one: Coleman, Jung, and sophomore Callie Gubera (Thorntown, Indiana)
