EVANSVILLE, Ind. - University of Southern Indiana Volleyball (7-6, 1-4 GLVC) returns to the friendly confines of the Physical Activities Center this weekend to host its first two Great Lakes Valley Conference home matches of the 2018 season.
The Screaming Eagles host Truman State University of Friday at 7 p.m. then return to the floor on Saturday to face Quincy University at 3 p.m.
Home Court Advantage
- The Eagles are on an 11-year winning-streak in GLVC home-openers...USI has six sweeps in this stretch
- USI posted a 3-1 record in the USI Invitational earlier this season, which stands as its home record for 2018 thus far

- Junior Elexis Coleman (Joliet, Illinois) leads USI this season with a 2.58 kills/set average and a .324 hitting percentage (ninth in the GLVC)...sophomore Alyssa Yochum (Columbia, Illinois) chases Coleman with 81 kills for the season...Yochum led the Eagles in kills Saturday against #4 Lewis University
- Sophomore Casey Cepicky (St. Louis, Missouri) has 80 assists so far in the GLVC season, and a 7.28 per set average in 2018...senior Erika Peoples (Bloomington, Illinois) has added 39 assists in the 6-2 scheme...Cepicky and Peoples combine for 9.26 assists/set in GLVC play
- Senior Haley Limper (Springfield, Illinois) continues to command the Eagles' back line, boasting a 3.17 dig/set average and 15 service aces (0.37/set, fourth in the GLVC) this season...junior Lizzy Gardner (Lafayette, Indiana) and Cepicky are second and third to Limper with 2.62 and 2.36 digs/set in GLVC play respectively

USI Volleyball and Sodexo have joined forces to provide the first 100 students in attendance with a free meal from the concessions stand for Friday's match against Truman. Showing a USI student ID qualifies for a free hot dog, chips, and a drink.
The Weekend Ahead
Truman State University (9-3, 2-2 GLVC); Friday, 7 pm:
- The Bulldogs are 9-3 so far in 2018 with wins over 2017 runner-up and #4 Florida Southern and #14 Arkansas Tech...two of Truman's three losses have come at #5 Lewis and at #13 Central Missouri University
- Truman returns to the PAC for the first time since the 2015 season, where the Eagles snatched a five-set victory
- Ellie Kaat leads an efficent attack for the Bulldogs, currently seventh in the GLVC in kills/set at 3.44...Jocelynn Livingston and Natalie Brimeyer sit second and seventh in the GLVC in hitting percentage, .351 and .325 respectively
- Savvy Hughes is the Bulldogs' primary setter, averaging 10.62 assists/set (fifth in the GLVC)...Hughes also sits sixth in the GLVC in aces (0.33/set, 14 total)
Quincy University (5-7, 0-4 GLVC); Saturday, 3 pm:
- The Hawks visit Bellarmine University Friday night in addition to the 5-7 record they hold currently...Quincy has taken 2017 one-seed Wheeling Jesuit University and the University of Indianapolis to five sets in 2018...The Hawks opened the season with their five wins and now ride a seven-match losing streak
- The Eagles took last year's meeting with Quincy in four sets...Since 2012, USI is 4-2 against the Hawks, including 3-1 in the PAC
- Sara Rathbun is the primary setter for the Hawks and eighth in the GLVC with an 8.77 assists/set average
- Sarah Blair leads the back line and sits eighth in the GLVC with a 4.66 digs/set rate
