EVANSVILLE, Ind. - University of Southern Indiana Volleyball (3-1) concluded its USI Invitational schedule on Saturday with a 3-1 record after dropping the afternoon match against Minnesota State University-Mankato then defeating Edinboro University in the nightcap.
Junior
Elexis Coleman (Joliet, Illinois) and freshman
Taylor Litteken (Foristell, Missouri) led the way with 18 kills each on the day.
Sophomore
Casey Cepicky (St. Louis, Missouri) assisted 63Â times on Saturday, while junior
Mikaila Humphrey (Floyd Knobs, Indiana) collected 17 digs.
Match 1: MSU-Mankato 3, USI 0
- Cepicky posted 25 assists and eight digs, including 11 assists in the final set
- Coleman led USI with eight kills
- Sophomore Alyssa Yochum (Columbia, Illinois) tallied seven kills of her own against the Mavericks, doing so with a .417 attack percentage
- Humphrey was second to Cepicky in digs (7) and third among Eagles in kills (6)
- MSU-Mankato featured three players with eight or more digs in the contest, seemingly collecting every USI attack no matter the difficulty
Match 2: USI 3, Edinboro 1
- Litteken posted 15 kills on just 23 attempts for an attack percentage of .565...eleven of her kills came in the first two sets, which established the tone for the match.
- Four Eagles tallied nine or more digs against the Fighting Scots: Cepicky, Humphrey, senior Haley Limper (Springfield, Illinois) and sophomore Callie Gubera (Thorntown, Indiana)...Cepicky also recorded 38 assists
- Coleman and Yochum combined for 19 kills on 34 attempts
- Coleman and freshman Sidney Hegg (Manasha, Wisconsin) each had four blocks in the contest

- Casey Cepicky reached the 1,000-assist mark for her career with her 27th assist of the day
- The Edinboro match was the first contest of the season for USI to go more than the minimum three sets
- MSU-Mankato escaped the USI Invitational as the only undefeated team
