Eagles finish 2017-18 with four-straight on the road
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team will finish the 2017-18 regular season with four-straight road games, beginning with William Jewell College Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Rockhurst University Saturday at 3 p.m. The road trip concludes the following week with visits to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (February 22) and Lewis University (February 24).

USI Men's Basketball Week 14 Notes:
Eagles go 0-2 in a rough week. USI had a rough week, falling at the University of Illinois Springfield, 79-70, and dropping Senior Night at the PAC to seventh-ranked Bellarmine University, 93-48. The Eagles had an early nine-point lead at Illinois Springfield, but could not rally back from a 14-point second half deficit. Freshman

Alex Stein rounded out the double-digit scorers with 22 points.
The Eagles could not get on track defensively as the Knights shot 71.2 percent (37-52) in losing their first game of the year at the PAC. Senior guard

Alex Stein has moved into the Eagles' top-five all-time in scoring with 1,423 points. Stein is 139 points behind fourth-place Cris Brunson (1,562 points, 2001-05).
Eagles needs to find the right track on the road. USI needs to take some of its home offensive magic on the road when it finishes the 2017-18 regular season away from the PAC. The Eagles are 14-1 at home and averaging 83.1 points per game, while going 5-6 in road/neutral site games and posting 73.6 points per outing. Senior guard
Marcellous Washington is the lone Eagle that averages better on the road (12.5 points per game) than at home (11.5 points per game).

Alex Stein is first in the league and the NCAA II in free throw percentage (.960; 120-125) and 32nd nationally in free throws made (120). Senior guard
Marcellous Washington leads the GLVC and ranks 11th nationally for assist-turnover ratio (3.13). USI, as a team, is first in the GLVC and sixth nationally in rebounds (969), and second in the league and 19th nationally in rebound margin (7.7 per game).

- USI at William Jewell. USI is 5-0 versus William Jewell since the series started in 2011. The Eagles, who are 3-0 on the road versus the Cardinals, took last year's meeting at the PAC, 88-61, behind the 17-points of guard Jeril Taylor.
- USI at Rockhurst. USI is 17-1 versus Rockhurst since the series started in 2006, 14-1 in GLVC play. The Eagles, who are 7-1 on the road versus the Hawks, took last year's meeting at the PAC, 98-77, led by the 27-points of guard Jeril Taylor and five USI players in double-digits.
William Jewell in 2017-18. The Cardinals are 18-6 overall and 8-6 in the GLVC after defeating the University of Illinois Springfield, 84-69, last Saturday. William Jewell, is 5-5 since starting the year, 13-1.
Rockhurst in 2017-18. The Hawks are 12-12 overall and 5-9 in the GLVC after defeating McKendree University, 83-71, in their last outing. Rockhurst, who hosts Bellarmine Thursday before welcoming the Eagles on Saturday, has a 3-2 mark in the last five games.
