Set 1
Bellarmine used a 9-2 run midway through the opening frame to build a commanding 18-11 lead that the Eagles were unable to overcome. Humphrey had three kills and a .429 attacking percentage for the Eagles, who were limited to just 10 kills and a .095 attacking percentage as a team.
Set 2
USI cut a seven-point deficit to three late in the set, but a 12-4 Bellarmine surge midway through the second set proved to be too much for the Eagles to overcome. USI had 13 kills and a .171 attacking percentage in the second stanza.
Set 3
After building a 16-11 lead midway through the third set, the Eagles found themselves on the opposite end of a 12-1 run that put the Knights in front, 23-17. USI, later, fought off match-point three times before suffering the four-point loss in the clincher.
