EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team completed a road swing sweep with a 3-0 victory over Truman State University Sunday afternoon in Kirksville, Missouri. USI boosts its record to 5-1-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the GLVC, while Truman falls to 3-2-1, 1-2-0 GLVC.
At 5-1-0 overall to start the year, the Screaming Eagles are off to their best start since 1986 when USI began the year, 5-0-1.
After a scoreless first half that had the Bulldogs outshooting the Eagles, 6-1, USI busted out of the locker room with a three-goal second-half to secure its third-straight victory. Freshman forward
Eric Ramirez (Vincennes, Indiana) started the scoring for the second match in a row with a tally at 50:44 to put the Eagles up 1-0.
Junior midfielder
Kyle Richardville (Vincennes, Indiana) recorded his team-best third assist of the year on Ramirez's team-best fifth tally of the fall.
Richardville would increase the USI lead to 2-0 at 62:22 with his first goal of the year and his first as an Eagle. Junior midfielder
Riley Belding (Columbus, Indiana) and freshman defender
Drew Albert (Eureka, Missouri) combined to assist Richardville on the goal.
The Eagles would seal the victory at 77:14 when freshman midfielder
Morgan Kelly (Shelbyville, Kentucky) found the back of the Bulldog goal for this first collegiate goal. Kelly was assisted on the play by freshman midfielder

Between the posts, junior goalkeeper
Adam Zehme (Orland Park, Illinois) picked up his fifth win and his first shutout of the year. Zehme posted the shutout by making six saves and faced a total of 13 shots.
USI returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field September 23 at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The short two-match home weekend concludes September 25 at 2:30 p.m. when the Eagles welcome Lewis University to Strassweg Field.
