EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's and women's cross country teams maintained their positioning in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Top 25 Coaches' Polls.
USI's men are ranked No. 6, nationally, and No. 2 in the Midwest Region, while the women's squad is No. 12, nationally, despite slipping a spot to No. 5 in the latest Midwest Region rankings.
In addition to USI, the Great Lakes Valley Conference was represented in the men's poll by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, which jumped two spots to No. 11.
Adams State University held its No. 1 ranking, this time unanimously as it received all eight first-place votes, while Grand Valley State University held the No. 2 ranking and is one of four Midwest Region schools to earn a spot in the Top 25. Ashland University slipped a spot to No. 16, nationally.
USI is one of four GLVC teams and eight Midwest Region schools to earn a spot in the women's Top 25. The GLVC was represented by USI, Bellarmine University (14), Lewis (15), and UW-Parkside (24). Both Bellarmine and UW-Parkside made their debuts in the national rankings this week, while Lewis moved up one spot.
Grand Valley State continued to be the unanimous No. 1 ranked team in the women's poll, while fellow Midwest Region foes Hillsdale College and Northern Michigan University were ranked No. 2 and No. 8, respectively. Malone University rounded out the Midwest Region representation after jumping two spots into a tie for No. 17.
The Screaming Eagles return to action Friday at 2:15 p.m. (CDT) when they compete at the Indiana Intercollegiate in Terre Haute, Indiana.
