USI has a lot on the line in season-finale

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team has a lot on the line when it visits second-ranked Bellarmine University for the 2014-15 season finale Thursday night in Louisville, Kentucky. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. (CST).

The Screaming Eagles (19-6, 12-5 GLVC) can improve its seeding in the upcoming Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament by as many as two positions with a victory on Thursday. A USI victory over Bellarmine (24-2, 16-1 GLVC), combined with a loss by the University of Indianapolis (versus Saint Joseph's College) and Lewis University (versus the University of Wisconsin-Parkside), puts the Eagles in the GLVC Tournament with a first-round bye and as the number four seed.

If UIndy posts a win in its season finale, USI will be at home Sunday (March 1) as the number five seed (a USI win and a Lewis loss) or the six seed. A fifth seeding has the Eagles hosting the University of Illinois Springfield or McKendree University, while a sixth seeding has USI hosting Maryville University. Tip-off on Sunday, if needed, is set for 2 p.m.

Game coverage, including live stats, audio, and video broadcasts, is available at gousieagles.com. The games also can be heard on WYFX 106.7FM and WPSR 90.7FM.
