EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Former University of Southern Indiana women's basketball players
Glenna Bower and
Kathy Lauck-Schreiber have been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 2015 Silver Anniversary Team, which is based on outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.
Bower scored 1,818 career points at New Washington High School and led the state in scoring in 1990, averaging 35.4 points per game. She scored over 40 points 10 times and holds the New Washington single-game scoring record with 54 points.
A four-time All-Conference and three-time All-sectional honoree, Bower went onto average 11.1 points in 67 games in a USI uniform. She also earned a pair of All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors on the cross country course at USI.
Currently, Bower is the Assistant Dean of the Pott College of Science, Engineering and Education at USI.
Lauck-Schreiber was a first-team All-State honoree at Roncalli High School under Hall of Fame coach Bob Kirkhoff. She was a two-time All-City and All-Metro performer and was a Top 40 workout participant in 1990.
USI's first women's basketball All-American, Lauck-Schrieber averaged 20.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game and finished her career as USI's all-time leader in points (1,573) and rebounds (791)—she currently ranks third in points and fourth in rebounds.
An inductee in USI's inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame, Lauck-Schreiber was named a first-team All-American by both the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association and the Division II Bulletin in 1994. She also was the GLVC Player of the Year in 1994.
Lauck-Schreiber is currently a pre-school teacher at Crabapple Creek in Indianapolis. She was on the Roncalli girls' basketball coaching staff from 2001-04 as well as 2008-13.
