EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team begins its longest road trip of the season when it travels to play Drury University and Missouri University of Science & Technology this week in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. The Screaming Eagles visit Drury in Springfield, Missouri, Thursday at 8 p.m. and Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri, Saturday at 3:15 p.m. to conclude the first half to the road swing.

USI Men's Basketball Notes versus Drury and Missouri S&T: USI starts GLVC play 2-0. The University of Southern Indiana began its Great Lakes Valley Conference title defense with a pair of wins, defeating William Jewell College, 86-48, and Rockhurst University, 75-64. USI is looking for its 13
th league championship and its third in four seasons.
Schumann and Roland provide the fire power in victories. Senior guards
Gavin Schumann and
TeNale Roland provided the offense in USI's victories over William Jewell and Rockhurst. Schumann and Roland had 16 points each in the win over William Jewell with Roland also dishing out 10 assists. Schumann led USI against Rockhurst with 29 points, while Roland dropped in 12 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Schumann close to another 30. Senior guard
Gavin Schumann missed his third 30-point game of the season by one point when he recorded 29 versus Rockhurst. Jamar Smith was the last Eagle to have more than two 30-point games in a season, reaching that plateau in 2009-10 when he had four (three games with 30 or more; one game with 40).
Davis makes the block on defense. Senior forward
Austin Davis had seven blocks in two games last weekend, including a career-high four against William Jewell. Davis is third in the GLVC in blocks.
Schumann is season leader in points. Senior guard
Gavin Schumann leads the Eagles and is third in the GLVC in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per contest. Junior forward
George Edwards follows Schumann with 17.3 points per outing off the bench and ranks seventh in the GLVC in scoring.
Season highs posted against William Jewell and Rockhurst. Nine Screaming Eagles posted or tied 17 season-highs in the wins over William Jewell and Rockhurst.
Edwards off the bench to get boards. Junior forward
George Edwards comes off the bench to lead the Eagles in rebounding with 8.7 boards per contest. Edwards has four- double-doubles in 10 games and posted a season-high 15 rebounds in the loss to third-ranked Florida Southern College.
Drury in 2014-15. The Panthers of Drury are 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the GLVC. Drury, which is the defending Midwest Region champions, suffered its first loss in the league (74-57 to seventh-ranked University of Indianapolis) last Friday. For more on Drury, visit the Panthers'

USI vs. Drury. USI leads the all-time series with Drury, 10-7, after splitting a pair of games last year. The Panthers took the regular season game in Evansville, 64-56, while the Eagles claimed the semi-final game of the GLVC Tournament, 75-57. USI leads the series in Springfield, 3-2, since 2000.
USI versus ranked teams. USI stumbled in its first match-up with a ranked team in 2014-15, falling to third-ranked Florida Southern College, 91-80. The Eagles are 61-50 (.550) against ranked squads since 1992-93.

USI vs. Missouri S&T. USI leads the all-time series with Missouri S&T, 12-3, and is 3-0 against the Miners in Rolla, Missouri, since 2000. The Eagles won last year's meeting, 81-69, at the PAC.
