COLUMBUS, Ohio. – University of Southern Indiana freshman midfielder Maggie Pike (Cape Girardeau, Missouri) scored 5:41 into overtime to propel the Screaming Eagles to a 1-0 overtime victory at Ohio Dominican University Sunday afternoon in Columbus, Ohio. USI finishes the Ohio Dominican Invitational and its first weekend of 2014, 1-1-0, while ODU falls to 0-2-0.
 
Pike headed in the game-winning goal off a corner kick by senior defender Maura Hulme (Westerville, Ohio) at 95:41. The goal was Pike's first as an Eagle.
 
Overall in the match, ODU outshot USI, 23-10, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 7-4.
 
USI junior goalkeeper Jackie Lohmann (Owensboro, Kentucky) picks up the win in goal with her first shutout of the season and the 14th of her career. Lohmann faced 23 shots and made nine saves Sunday. The 14th career shutout also moves her into a statistical tie for third all-time at USI with Heather Heseman (14.5 shutouts, 1997-2000).  
 
The Eagles complete the road swing next weekend when they start the Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule by traveling to Quincy University (September 12) and Truman State University (September 14). 
 
USI plays its first regular-season game at Strassweg Field September 19 when its hosts the University of Missouri-St. Louis for a GLVC contest.
