NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team could not overcome a pair of first half goals before falling to Trevecca Nazarene University, 2-0, Saturday evening in Nashville, Tennessee. The Screaming Eagles see their record fall to 1-1-0 overall in 2014, while TNU sees its record rise to the same mark.

The Trojans got on the board quickly with their first tally 19 seconds into the match. TNU would extend its lead to 2-0 at 25:32 and would hold that margin for the win.

USI battled TNU throughout the match and held a 14-10 advantage in shots and a 4-1 margin in corner kicks, but could take advantage of its offensive opportunities. The Trojans had the advantage in shots on-goal, 7-6.

USI junior goalkeeper Auston Bruder (Evansville, Indiana) took the loss in goal, allowing the two tallies and making three saves. The USI defense also had a pair of team saves.

The Eagles complete the road swing next weekend when they start the Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule by traveling to Quincy University (September 12) and Truman State University (September 14).

USI plays its first regular season game at Strassweg Field September 19 when its hosts the University of Missouri-St. Louis for a GLVC contest.
