th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 1-0, Friday evening at Strassweg Field. USI goes to 1-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 GLVC, while UW-Parkside watches its records go to 6-0-1 overall and a league-best 4-0-1 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles fell behind early when the Rangers scored the eventual game-winning goal at the 13:39 mark of the first half. UW-Parkside got the edge during the first 45 minutes with an 11-5 lead in shots.
In the second half, USI and was nearly even with nationally ranked UW-Parkside. The Rangers had the second half lead in shots, 7-4, but the Eagles had the advantage in corner kicks, 4-3.
Overall, UW-Parkside had an 18-9 shot margin, while the Eagles led in attacks from the corners, 6-5. USI junior goalkeeper
Jackie Lohmann (Owensboro, Kentucky) took the loss for the Eagles, allowing a goal and making eight saves.
USI concludes the four-game homestand at noon Sunday when it hosts Lewis University. The Flyers entered tonight's action at the University of Illinois Springfield with a 1-4-1 overall record, 1-3-0 GLVC.
