"Go4theGoal" contest slated for September 21 2014 USI Men's Soccer Schedule EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team kicks-off the 2014 season September 4 when it travels across the Ohio River to play Kentucky Wesleyan College and begin a four-game road swing to open the year. The season-opening match-up at KWC begins a year that includes eight home games at Strassweg Field and nine contests on the road.
The 2014 Screaming Eagles hope to improve upon last year's .500 record of 7-7-3 in 2013. USI missed a second-straight trip to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament after posting a 6-7-2 conference mark.
Following the season opener at KWC, the Screaming Eagles continue their journey south to visit Trevecca Nazarene University (September 6) and finish the non-conference schedule. USI follows the non-conference portion of the season with the beginning of GLVC action when it travels to Quincy University (September 12) and Truman State University (September 14).
The USI home opener is September 19 against GLVC-rival University of Missouri-St. Louis at Strassweg Field. The home opening weekend also features USI's "Go4theGoal Game" when it hosts Maryville University. The Eagles will wear gold jerseys against the Saint to help promote awareness of and struggle against pediatric cancer.
Following the matches with UMSL and Maryville, the Eagles have home conference matches against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (September 26); Lewis University (September 28); William Jewell College (October 10); Rockhurst University, the defending GLVC champion (October 12); McKendree University (October 24); and Bellarmine University (October 29).
In addition to the four road matches to start the 2014 campaign, the Eagles are scheduled to travel to Saint Joseph's College (October 3); the University of Indianapolis (October 5); Drury University (October 17); Missouri University of Science & Technology (October 19); and the University of Illinois Springfield (October 26).
Season ticket prices are $30 for individuals and $45 for a family pass. USI students are admitted free.
