EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has announced the first round opponents for the University of Southern Indiana men's and women's basketball teams in the 2014 conference tournament. The sixth-seeded USI women's basketball team (18-8, 12-6 GLVC) starts post-season play versus 11
th-seeded Missouri University of Science & Technology (9-17, 5-13 GLVC) at 1 p.m. Sunday, while the sixth-seeded USI men's basketball team (21-5, 13-5 GLVC) tips off tournament action against 11
th-seeded Maryville University (13-13, 7-11 GLVC) at 3:15 p.m.
USI women's basketball won the only regular season meeting with Missouri S&T, 91-62, at the PAC on January 9. USI men's basketball also posted a regular season victory over its first round opponent, winning a close contest over Maryville at the PAC, 64-61, on February 13.
Tickets for the first round of the GLVC Tournament are on sale in the USI Ticket Office through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. USI season ticket holders have the opportunity to purchase their tickets until the close of business Friday. Ticket prices for the first-round games are $10 for adults and $5 for non-USI students (age 17 and under). USI students will be admitted free of charge with a valid University ID.
