EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team returns to action Tuesday at 6 p.m. when they host Midwest Region foe Salem International University at the Physical Activities Center.
After playing a total of 10 games—eight regular-season and two exhibition—in a span of 24 days, the Screaming Eagles finally got a little rest following their 70-49 win over then No. 11 Newberry College November 30.
USI, which has won six straight games, has four players averaging in double-figures. Senior forward/center
Anna Hackert (Evansville, Indiana), who is tied for first in the country in double-doubles (6) and second in offensive rebounds (6.0), leads the Eagles with 14.4 points and 12.4 rebounds per contest.

Tanner Marcum (New Albany, Indiana) and freshman guard/forward
Kaydie Grooms (Marshall, Illinois) are contributing 10.6 and 10.3 points per game, respectively.
Salem International (0-9) is led by senior guard Inkera Patterson and senior guard/forward Shakinah Haggins. Patterson is averaging a team-best 16.0 points per contest, while Haggins is chipping in 11.0 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game.
USI leads the all-time series with the Tigers, 3-0, after defeating Salem International, 109-61, last year at the PAC.
Tuesday's game ends a five-game homestand for the Eagles, who play in the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada, December 18-19 to wrap up their non-conference slate. The game will be carried on WPSR 90.7 FM, while live stats, video, and audio can be accessed at gousieagles.com.
