Hackert garners GLVC honor as Eagles prep for busy week

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior forward/center Anna Hackert (Evansville, Indiana) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week following her efforts in the Screaming Eagles' victories over Midwest Region foes Kentucky Wesleyan College and Ashland University.

Hackert began the week with a 10-point, 10-rebound effort in the Eagles' 72-58 road win over former GLVC rival Kentucky Wesleyan Tuesday night. She finished the week with a game-high 19 points and 16 rebounds in USI's 72-64 win over 2013 national champion Ashland Saturday afternoon.

For the week, Hackert averaged 14.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. She has a double-double in all of USI's four contests, bringing her career total to 29.

Hackert, a 2014 honorable mention All-American, currently leads the Eagles with 14.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per contest. She is second in the GLVC in rebounding and tied for 11th in scoring.

The honor is the fourth of Hackert's career after she earned the honor twice in January of 2013 and once last January.
