EVANSVILLE, Ind.---The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team will dress in pink Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in its annual 'Dig for the Cure' match at the Physical Activities Center. The Dig for the Cure campaign is designed to help raise awareness and money for breast cancer research.
USI continues its season-long homestand the following day, playing host to Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division leader Lewis University at 3 p.m., before closing out in a non-conference matchup against Kentucky State University Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
USI leaders: Senior outside hitter
Fawn Ryan (Batesville, Indiana) leads the Screaming Eagles' attack, and is fifth in the GLVC, averaging 3.34 kills/set. In USI's three-set win over Saint Joseph's College last week, Ryan tallied a career-high 20 kills, ending the game with just one error off 27 attacks for a season-high .704 attacking percentage.
At the net, junior middle blocker
Abbey Winter (Germantown, Illinois) leads the Eagles, and is second in the GLVC averaging 1.29 blocks/set. Winter also leads the conference in service aces, totaling 20 and averaging 0.53 per set. Sophomore
Amy Zwissler (Bloomington, Indiana) rounds out the conference's top list in blocks at ninth, averaging 1.00 blocks/set.

Quin Shoultz (Columbus, Indiana) leads in assists and is ninth in the conference averaging 9.49 per set, while freshman libero
Jessica Lee (Mackinaw, Illinois) leads the USI defense with 165 digs, 4.34 per set.
Wisconsin-Parkside notes: The Rangers will be looking for a win this weekend, having dropped two of its last three matches while on the road. Wisconsin-Parkside, 3-4 in the GLVC, 6-6 overall, has three players ranked 8
th in the conference in their respective positions. Leading the attack is freshman outside hitter Jackie Langer with 3.13 kills/set, freshman setter Megan Pekarek with 9.69 assists/set, while junior defensive specialist Jessi Mainczyk leads in digs averaging 4.66 per set.
Lewis notes: Sporting a six-match winning streak, the flyers face Bellarmine University before making their way to Evansville. Lewis' only loss of the GLVC season was a five-setter to West Division leader Truman State University in its opening weekend. The Flyers currently lead the conference in hitting percentage (.260) and have five top 10 players in the GLVC's overall statistics leader standings.
