EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team lost a 2-1 decision to Drury University Sunday afternoon at the Strassweg Field. USI sees its record drop to 2-3-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Drury rises 6-1-0 overall and 3-1-0, conference.

Rush Dugger (Hanson,Kentucky) converted a cross from freshman forward
Steve Sokol (Perth, Australia) to give the Eagles the 1-0 advantage. Dugger's goal was his first of the year.
Drury would rally back in the final five minutes of the first half with a tally at 41:14 to knot the game at 1-1. The score would remain tied 1-1 through the intermission.
In the second half, the Panthers were able to convert one of their four shots for the game winner at 63:30. USI also had four shots in the second half and challenged the box numerous times, but was unable to convert in the final 45.
Overall in the match, USI had the advantage in shots, 11-8, while the teams were even in corner kicks, 2-2.
USI hits the road next weekend in the GLVC, traveling Friday to Rockhurst University for a 7:30 p.m. contest and Sunday to William Jewell College for a 2:30 p.m. match-up. The USI-Rockhurst game will be a rematch of last fall's GLVC semifinal match in Kansas City. The next home match for the Eagles is October 4 when they host the University of Indianapolis.
