KANSAS CITY, Mo.---The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team battled, but was unable to keep the momentum it gained after a second-set win, eventually falling 1-3 to Rockhurst University in both teams' Great Lakes Valley Conference opener Friday night.

With the loss, the Screaming Eagles fall to 6-3 overall, 0-1 in GLVC action while the Hawks improve to 7-2 overall, 1-0 in conference play.
